Anthropic Opens Claude Plugin Submissions to Paid-Plan Developers

Anthropic said on September 25 that it had opened a Claude plugin-submission portal to developers on paid Claude plans. Business-software vendors now have a route to seek a directory listing and follow the review of their integration. Approval is required before publication: paid-plan eligibility permits submission, not a guaranteed listing.

For a vendor deciding whether to spend money and development time on Claude, that distinction matters. The submission announcement describes two ways to package the work: a single remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector, or a plugin bundle combining MCP servers and skills, submitted through a GitHub repository.

Review comes before distribution

Anthropic says submissions receive automated validation and a safety scan. Developers can check review status and feedback in the portal. If a submission is approved, the developer chooses when to publish it; submitting alone does not place a plugin in the directory.

Once a plugin is published, Anthropic says its analytics show installs by product surface and version, listing views, and searches that lead users to the plugin. Those categories give vendors a way to see where a published integration is being found and installed. The immediate buying decision is whether access to that submission and review process warrants a paid Claude plan and the work of building an integration.
